29th January 2016

Birthday a couple of days ago and my mam and Stuart came down for the week.  44 years old!!

Went out last night to Preso.  Pizza and beer.  All okay until I started on the grappa.  Not my best idea.

Weight loss is going okay and I'm definitely seeing a difference  in my running.

Long runs in 2014 were at 9:30 pace.  Last year probably about 9:45 pace.  I'm now holding 9:20 ish at the same HR.

PR at parkrun Gorleston last weekend.  21:54.

Off skiing to Obertauern next week for 4 days.  Can't wait.  Just me and Mel so can kick back and have a few beers.

Happy New Year!!

Great start to the year training wise.

Ankle is getting better and I'm starting to be able to run again.  Still not 100% but did run 10.5mile a couple of days ago.  Swimming is ok.  Not brilliant but ok.  Biking is decent for time of year.  Sundays with the fast group and trainer road definitely paying off.

Trained well over Xmas week and this week has gone well.

Got the first 50mile reliability ride of 2016 this Sunday so should be a good morning.

Xmas was okay.  A bit sad after my Gran died so I can't say I enjoyed it much but the time off work was good.  Still struggling a bit and keep breaking down.  Time heals I suppose.

Started counting calories to lose weight.  Lost 4 pounds so far.  Went a week alcohol free which helped!

Thinking about skiing in Lapland next year and trying to persuade Mel to do a short break this winter.  Just the two of us.  Fingers crossed!
